It is unfortunate that this Referendum did not pass, but it is hard to compete with the current economy although approving the referendum now made perfect sense to us.

Keep educating yourself and passing the information along.   If nothing else, we have continued to raise awareness about our water issues.

Sincerely,

Lori McConville, Chairperson

Text Box: “Communities with more open space have higher home values.”
The Association of Realtors

Dear Friends, Thank you for your support, your time and money, and your efforts.

Text Box: The Open Space Plan will maintain and support the high quality of life we enjoy in Nunda Township. It is insurance that the rural character of our community will be sustained and that municipalities will have a protected local resource for their water supply.
Whether you are on well and septic or water and sewer, your water comes from underground aquifers. It is important that all governments take responsibility in protecting our water source, and that means keeping a sufficient number of acres open to collect rainwater and replenish our groundwater. As populations continue to grow, and they will, your governments need to be ready to supply its people and businesses with clean water. Clean water is essential. It’s that basic.
Taking the initiative to protect our land and water resources today, is planning to prevent damaging consequences that come from development that is not properly prepared for and which can have irreversible consequences later. With the economy at a slow down and land values lower, our dollars will go farther and the tax increases will be less.

Ask a neighbor  —

Why do you live in Nunda Township?

“I moved here to enjoy the rural atmosphere and the quaintness of a small town neighborhood. “

“My family has been here for generations, and I’ve lived here all my life.  I  want to continue enjoying the rural atmosphere and preserve the roots of my family.”

“There’s space and it’s beautiful.  I leave the city behind when I come home from work.”

Why is Open Space Important to Our Community?       Water!
